Five creators. Five countries. Five distinct ways of seeing and interpreting the world.

This week, African Creators You Should Know This Week brings together Andile Dyalvane, Wael Shawky, Billie Zangewa, Nicola Brandt and Mulenga J. Mulenga.

From the cultural knowledge embedded in clay to the politics of historical memory, the intimacy of everyday life, the histories held by landscapes and the evolving nature of identity, their practices demonstrate the breadth of contemporary African creativity.

Each creator approaches their work from a different perspective, using their chosen mediums to question, preserve, reinterpret and imagine.

Get to know their work. Explore their stories. Spend some time in the Neighborhood.
